Welcome to Juiced’s sneaker roundup for the week of May 29th-June 4th. This week sees the return of Adidas’s Yeezy line after the company reached an agreement with Kanye West. We also feature collaborations from a couple of other musicians and artists, along with one of the most hyped drops this year…
Adidas x Jim Jones Harlem SNS Exclusive
When: Monday 29th.
Where: SNS in-store locations and the SneakersnStuff.com app
Price: $110
Harlem, a neighborhood in New York City, has a rich cultural history, particularly in the realm of basketball. In the 20th century, Harlem became renowned for its street basketball scene, known for its unique style of play, creativity, and flashy moves. This urban basketball culture influenced the fashion and style of basketball shoes. Adidas originally released the HRLM model back in the 80s, but it was only in limited quantities.
40 years later, Adidas has teamed up with Harlem’s own Jim Jones of Dipset to bring a retro-looking sneaker exclusively to SNS. The shoe is made with a premium leather upper featuring nubuck overlays, different shades of blue on the three stripes, and an updated Adidas Centennial Lo midsole to get as close to the original pair as possible.
Air Jordan 1 Low SE Craft ‘Tech Grey’
When: Tuesday 30th
Where: Footdistrict & BTSN
Price: €130
Tuesday sees both Footdistrict and BTSN drop the Air Jordan 1 SE Craft in the ‘Tech Grey’ colorway. The selected colorway means the sneaker pays homage to the rich heritage of the Air Jordan 1 line while adding a contemporary twist.
Moreover, the upper is crafted with premium materials, showcasing a combination of smooth leather and supple suede. Whilst you won’t see a huge return on investment if you’re looking to buy for resell, this sneaker makes for a great personal pair to wear yourself, especially as we come into the summer.
Yeezy 350 V2 ‘Carbon Beluga’
When: Tuesday 30th
Where: Adidas Confirmed App
Price: €230
Earlier this month, Adidas announced it would restart selling Yeezy’s again after it had previously stalled sales following controversial comments made by Kanye West. It is understood that a portion of the profits will be donated to charity and that the stock being sold will for now at least be stock already manufactured.
One of the first of these Yeezy drops is the 350 V2 ‘Carbon Beluga’, with sign-ups for the pair now open on the Confirmed app. Unlike some of the other Yeezy’s expected to be dropping, this one has never been released previously. The shoe draws inspiration from its predecessors with many resemblances, most notably, prominently showcasing a vibrant orange stripe. However, it sets itself apart through its darker Primeknit upper, which blends tones of brown and grey.
Yeezy 350 “Onyx”
When: Tuesday 30th
Where: Adidas Confirmed App
Price: €230
Another Yeezy pair currently scheduled to drop Tuesday is the 350 “Onyx”. The nearly all-black shoe is exactly what one may think of when one hears the word “Yeezy”, although it may not be the best summer pair due to its colorway. The midsole is semi-translucent however, meaning it’s not all dull and dark. Like with the previous pair, sign-ups are now open on the Confirmed app.
Teyana Taylor x Air Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 “A Rose From Harlem”
When: Tuesday 30th
Where: SNKRS App
Price: $150
American singer and choreographer Teyana Taylor is back with another sneaker. She has previously collaborated with the likes of Adidas and now can add the Jordan brand to her resume. She released two pairs for the brand with the three stripes nearly a decade ago now and according to Adidas Global Director of Entertainment and Influence Marketing, Jonathan Wexler, Taylor currently holds the record for fastest-selling sneakers in Adidas Originals history.
This Jordan 1 Zoom CMFT 2 is filled with Taylor’s signature style. Playing on the shoe’s name (which is named after one of her songs), rose thorns outline the famed Swoosh on the leather upper. Meanwhile, deliberately-exposed stitching surrounds the Black Swoosh. Of course, we cannot forget about the tongue of the shoe which displays “TEY”.
Nike Born x Raised x Dunk Low SB ‘One Block at a Time’
When: Thursday, June 1st
Where: Selected Skate Stores and potentially SNKRS app
Price: $120
By far the best drop happening this week is Nike’s collab with Born x Raised to create the Dunk Low SB ‘One Block at a Time. Born x Raised is a Los Angeles-based brand, that has once again demonstrated its exceptional skills in this collaboration. Interestingly, this isn’t the first instance of the two brands joining forces. Previously, Born x Raised and Nike collaborated on a limited edition release called the Air Force 1 ’22 “Sadie Hawkins”.
The shoe is a masterpiece from back to front featuring holographic details, slogans and embroidery rarely seen on Nike pairs. There is just one issue, however. There is said to be potential that this drop is delayed until later in the month on SNKRS, with just selected skate stores getting stock on the 1st.
One way to ensure you do not miss this drop, whenever it comes, is by signing up to Juiced and downloading our brand-new app. By joining today, you will be informed exactly when and where this amazing collaboration is dropping.
